Common battle modes

Mode How it works
1v1 / 2v2 / group A fixed number of players each stake the same case(s); everyone opens simultaneously and the winner (by total value, or by the mode’s own rule) takes all cases opened in the battle.
Standard (total value) Whoever’s combined item value across all cases opened is highest wins everything pulled in the battle.
Crazy Mode Whoever pulls the single highest-value item across the whole battle wins, regardless of total combined value — a higher-variance twist on the standard format.
Terminal / “Jokered” modes Platform-specific variants that add extra rules (e.g. lowest-value item eliminated, or a bonus multiplier round) — naming and exact rules vary by operator, so check the specific site’s mode description.

Why battles add variance, not new house edge

Each case opened in a battle uses the same fixed odds it would have as a solo open — battles don’t change any individual case’s math, they change the distribution of outcomes across the group of participants. In a 1v1 battle, for example, you either end up with double the cases you paid for or none of them, rather than guaranteed keeping your own single pull; across many battles, this trends toward the same combined EV as opening those same cases solo (see the case opening EV explanation), just delivered with higher variance per individual battle.

Do case battles change the odds of any individual case?

No — each case opened during a battle still uses that case's own fixed item pool and per-item odds. Battles change who ends up with the combined results across all participants, not the underlying probability of any single case.

What's 'Crazy Mode' in a case battle?

A common variant where the winner is determined by the highest single item pulled across the whole battle, rather than by total combined value. It shifts the format toward higher variance — a battle you're 'losing' on total value can still be won by pulling one standout item near the end.

Can you battle against strangers, or only friends?

Most platforms support both — creating a private battle link to send to friends, or joining an open public lobby to battle against other players on the site. Check the specific operator's battle-creation flow for which options it offers.

Is a case battle more expensive than opening the same cases solo?

The entry cost is the same as buying the case(s) individually, since you're staking the case price to enter — battles don't add an extra fee on top in the implementations we've seen, but we haven't verified this across every ZLASHY partner offering battles. What changes is variance, not cost: you might win nothing (all your cases go to the other winner) or several players' worth of cases, rather than guaranteed keeping your own single pull.
